Earthquakes and tsunamis- step one
Earthquake- a series of vibrations induced in the earth's crust by the abrupt rupture and rebound of rocks in which elastic strain has been slowly accumulating. Earthquakes happen when two separate pieces if earth slide against each other on the fault plane.
Geophysicist- some one that studies earthquakes, and earth using magnetic, electrical, and seismic methods.
Magnitude- how large or small the earthquake is.
Richter scale- the Richter scale is used to measure how large or small the earthquake is on a scale of one to ten.
Fault plane- the space that separates two pieces of earth.

Tsunami- an unusually large series of sea wave produced by a sea quake or undersea volcanic eruption
